Cemetery dirt on concrete
36 in x 96 in x 108 in

The sculpture, "Row B, Plot 33," is composed of six tons of dirt removed from a cemetery plot in Shasta, California.

The dirt was transported to Refusalon art gallery in San Francisco, California and tamped into one ft square bricks. The bricks were assembled on the gallery floor to be the same dimensions as the hole in the ground: 3 ft wide by 8 ft long by 6 ft deep.

It was a literal real estate transaction: the artist bought a plot of land and took it home.

A sculpture was also buried in the cemetery in Shasta, just off Interstate 5. A tombstone with the word "Untitled" is planned for the site to give tourists an indication that they have reached the sculpture.

In addition, a cemetery deed accompanies the piece. It is officially registered in Siskiyou County and must be amended every time the sculpture changes ownership.
